As one of Japans leading racing car designers. Takuya Yura. known as the man who can see the air. created a buzz with his body design for the Bigwig. a 4WD racing buggy designed to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Tamiyas electric RC car. The Bigwig (2017) is a reprint that features improvements while maintaining the same basic structure as the original 1986 release.

A departure from the slim style of previous buggy bodies. the Bigwigs voluminous. aerodynamic body smoothly flows through air and generates downforce. making it a distinctive design even today. While the markings retain the original design. a key feature is the prominent logo of Mooncraft. the racing car manufacturing company of which Yura is the president. prominently displayed on the rear wing.

[Shaft-driven 4WD chassis with ambitious mechanics]
The shaft-driven 4WD chassis provides excellent stability during off-road driving. It features full bearings for loss-free transmission of motor power to all four wheels. and front and rear differentials for smooth cornering. The suspension is four-wheel independent double wishbone. The suspension arms feature high-strength A-arms at the front and H-arms at the rear. and are fitted with CVA oil dampers for excellent shock absorption.
Flat dish wheels minimize the adhesion of mud. a common problem when driving off-road. and are fitted with oval block tires for ample grip. Additionally. the rack-and-pinion steering system. previously only available on the Big Wig. remains the same.
