The driving force behind the foundation of modern racing buggies
The amazingly fast machine that debuted in the world championships is back!
The prototype of the Optima Mid. which was introduced at the 2nd Electric Off-Road Car World Championship held in the UK in 1987. made a brilliant debut. taking 5 out of 10 cars in the A main final and coming in second. The chassis layout. which placed the motor midship while taking advantage of the Optimas suspension. which was popular for its sophisticated design. laid the foundation for modern racing buggies. The Optima Mid has been reprinted as the 10th edition of the Vintage Series. The main chassis is made of 6016T6 aluminum alloy to ensure rigidity. Each part has been updated to match modern power systems. such as the use of a 48-pitch gear to improve drive efficiency and enable fine gear ratio settings. In addition. the belt tensioner. which did not exist at the time. allows belt tension adjustment. achieving smooth drive without loss. In addition. the equipment of the Turbo Optima Mid. a top model at the time. has been partially incorporated. such as FRP front and rear shock stays and a main chassis with countersunk holes. Of course. the body design is faithful to the original. and the racing form is reproduced. The Optima Mid is finally joining the popular Vintage Series. Experience the cutting-edge mechanism of the time and its driving performance that still stands out today.
¡üThe 10th model in the Kyosho Vintage Series. A modern update of the popular 4WD buggy that made a stunning debut at the World Championship.
¡üA reproduction of the model that was a big hit in electric buggy races in the late 1980s. with the same image as it was back then. The design of each part has been revised to accommodate the latest RC mechanisms. motors. and batteries.
¡üA belt-type 4WD system with excellent drive efficiency. It achieves stable driving even on low-grip surfaces. and demonstrates high driving performance even on modern circuits.
¡üUses a 48-pitch pinion and spur gear. It uses the same 82T spur gear as the existing Ultima RB7. and an optional 78T/80T spur gear can be installed.
¡üEquipped with a reinforced slipper clutch that is compatible with powerful brushless motors. You can change the settings by replacing the slipper seat for the Ultima RB.
¡üEquipped with a holder that can accommodate various batteries. The battery is fixed with a hook-and-loop fastener with the KYOSHO logo.
¡üThe newly designed wheels reproduce the original design and are equipped with the same tires as the reproduction Turbo Optima. Sufficient grip is ensured.
¡üThe reinforced nylon rear wing. which combines moderate flexibility and strength. is the same as the Javelin. which was previously reproduced. The mounting angle can be adjusted to three stages to change the settings.
¡üThe box package is also a blister pack specification that resembles the original. increasing the satisfaction of owning it.
¡üIt can also be tuned up with a wide range of optional parts. It goes beyond the scope of a simple reproduction model and can be enjoyed as a current model.
technical-image-01
The basic design follows the Optima Mid from 1987. As the name suggests. the layout places the motor midship. and by concentrating heavy loads in the center of the chassis. the driving performance is greatly improved.
technical-image-02
The 6061T6 aluminum alloy main chassis has an excellent balance of rigidity and crash resistance. and has been given countersinking to make the underside of the chassis flat. while the screws are of the hex type.
technical-image-03
The front and rear shock stays have been updated from the original aluminum to the Turbo Optima Mid-spec FRP.
technical-image-04
Equipped with gold anodized oil dampers in the style of the pressure dampers that were all the rage at the time. The dial-type height adjustment allows for easy fine-tuning of the vehicle height. allowing for fine-tuning.
technical-image-05
Added stabilizer end mounting holes to the front suspension arms. The material has also been revised to increase strength and improve driving stability.
technical-image-06
The newly equipped belt tensioner allows for belt tension adjustment. Reduces loss and improves drive efficiency.
technical-image-07
The belt cover that protects the drive belt from sand and pebbles has been updated from the vacuum-molded product of the time to a resin-molded product. Improved ease of assembly and dustproof performance.
technical-image-08
The 48-pitch spur gear is equipped with a slipper clutch that protects the gear from shocks while driving.
technical-image-09
Decals that reproduce the package color of the time are included. A masking sheet is also included. so you can easily complete the body by simply painting it in a single color.
